Danny Elliott, age 61, of Somerset passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Mr. Elliott was born in Casey County, KY on July 8, 1948 to the late Charles & Maurine Phelps Elliott. He enjoyed sports, UK basketball and reading. Mr. Elliott was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Denham Street Baptist Church in Somerset, KY.

Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife, Sarah Jane Dick Elliott, whom he married August 22, 1995 in Somerset; a son, Ronnie (& Sonia) Logan, Science Hill; 3 brothers, Freddie Elliott, Casey County, KY, Randall (& Trish) Elliott, Casey County, KY, and Timmy Elliott, Somerset, KY; 3 sisters, Carolyn (& Bro. J.S.) New, Donna (& Bruce) Meece, and Billie Elliott, all of Somerset, KY; 3 grandchildren, Patsy Logan, Elizabeth Logan, and Roger Logan; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and his beloved dog, “Cain”. 

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Nickals Allen Elliott and a sister-in-law, Elsie McMullin Elliott.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 6:00 pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 W. Hwy 80, Somerset, KY.

Funeral services for Danny Elliott will be held on Friday, March 5, 2010 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home at 10:00am with Bro J.S. New officiating. Interment will follow in Grave Hill Cemetery, Tateville, KY. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post # 38 Honor Guard of Somerset.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Humane Society or Bethany House.
